How does this method work?
When selling services, what the customer buys is usually faster, more accurate or effortless completion of a job. Explain your offer with the result to be achieved before the tool you use. Instead of 'I'm designing', 'I'm creating a print-ready one-page menu for the restaurant' gives clearer scope. It should be understood what is not included in the delivery as well as what is included.
Evaluation with a concrete example
In the sample menu service, text and prices are provided by the customer, one design option and two rounds of corrections limit the scope. If product photography is requested later, this is a separate task. When determining your price, include negotiation, file preparation and correction times. Offering unlimited services at very low prices may not create a sustainable business even if the first customer is found.
Your first application: what should you have?
Package a service on one page: for whom, what output, in how long, on what terms? Test your understandability with a sample study first. After the first delivery, ask what the customer found valuable and refine the process. Your output is an open resellable package, delivery checklist, and price calculation based on actual hours.
