The goal on Upwork is not to apply for every possible job, but to send a comprehensive bid to projects that match your skills. You'll have to look at the scope of the ad, budget, delivery time and client history. A single high budget information is not enough to validate the job.
The proposal must respond to the client's business.
In the first sentence, describe how you're approaching the concrete need in the ad. Show a similar example, write the output you're going to deliver and ask a question that clarifies the scope. Instead of copying a long resume to every application, choose relevant experience. If you don't try the wallet, say so.
Your first trial: step by step
Record three suitable ads, each one showing the required skill and lacking knowledge. Only pick a job you can really deliver on the first try.
- Focus your profile's expertise around a single service.
- Prepare a short quotation specific to the job and a relevant sample.
- Specify the type of contract, budget and delivery stages in writing.
Costs and pricing
Connects, platform fees and payment charges used in applications may be part of the total cost; check current conditions. Fixed-price deal, split the stages into smaller deliveries. For hourly contracts, check which time records qualify for payment protection. Don't assume that protection applies in all circumstances and for all jobs.
Before publishing or applying
Do not produce a complete, usable project for free before the contract starts. For fixed-price work, check that the relevant milestone is funded. For hourly work, check the platform’s time-recording requirements. Verify your identity only through official account screens, and question requests to download unknown software.
