Before deciding to open a store on Trendyol, decide what you want to sell and whether you can supply that product regularly. The number of visitors to the marketplace is not a guarantee of sales for a new store. Starting with a product is a more controlled trial to see the operation and actual costs.
There's a difference between applying and being ready to sell.
Check the current seller application requirements, required documents according to type of business and category rules on the official channel. Prepare the barcode, brand, image and description information of the product. Do not list an unavailable product as in stock. Do not confuse procurement lead time with a promised delivery date.
Your first trial: step by step
Create a one-page file for the first product: source of supply, purchase cost, package size, stock quantity and possible reason for return.
- Match product images and variants correctly.
- Calculate the deductions and shipping costs for the category.
- Try the order, invoice, packing and return workflow.
Costs and pricing
Example: from a sale of 1,000 TRY, subtract a product cost of 450 TRY, assumed marketplace costs of 160 TRY, shipping of 70 TRY, packaging of 20 TRY and advertising of 50 TRY. The remainder is 250 TRY. This amount is the contribution before taxes and other expenses; it is not the actual commission rate. Also check the returned order to see what expenses are not repaid.
Before publishing or applying
Campaign discounts and advertising budget margins may change. Make a cash plan for the gap between your payment schedule and the date you pay the supplier. Be able to provide brand authorization and product safety documents when required; do not copy someone else's description or image.
