How the calculations work
YouTube revenue estimate
Revenue = views ÷ 1,000 × RPM. Use your own Analytics RPM for the same period and format. RPM is after YouTube’s share; do not deduct that share again. Use engaged views for Shorts.
Sponsorship proposal budget
Proposal = (production + travel + rights + integration) × (1 + markup ÷ 100). Markup is added to cost; it is not a profit margin. Expected views only affect the comparison metric.
Worked example
Hypothetical example: 100,000 views × 20 RPM ÷ 1,000 = 2,000 currency units. With expenses of 1,500, contribution before tax is 500. This is not a statement of our channel’s earnings.
These are assumption-based scenarios, not guaranteed earnings or market rates. Do not add revenue already included in RPM. Taxes, payment adjustments and unspecified expenses are excluded. Define sponsorship deliverables and disclosures separately.
