To sell on Etsy, you first have to match the product types that the platform accepts. Handcrafted, own design, suitable vintage products or permitted materials are not subject to the same rules. Don't assume you can resell every product like in a regular marketplace.
Separate the physical product from the digital file
Plan the production time, packaging, tracked shipping and possible customs clearance for a physical product. In the digital product, specify file format, size, license and content that the recipient will download. If you're having your own design done by a production partner, check the relevant platform disclosure terms.
Your first trial: step by step
For example, design an original weekly planner. Open your PDF file on different devices and print it in real size before selling.
- Confirm product eligibility and country-based payment terms on the official help page.
- Make an original photo or a proper preview.
- Write the title of the first announcement, file contents and support conditions.
Costs and pricing
Don't count on a single sales commission. Write listing, transaction, payment processing, advertising if any, currency conversion and other applicable expenses on separate lines. A digital product may not have shipping costs; the time of preparation and customer support is again a cost. Verify current fees for your own store country; do not open an advertising budget without calculating the remaining amount on a sample sale.
Before publishing or applying
Don't assume you have the right to resell a character, brand logo or file that you purchased. Also consider the commercial and tax situation in Turkey. The opening of a store does not mean that every product will be approved or sold immediately.
