In the print on demand model, products such as t-shirts, cups or posters are produced after orders arrive. It can reduce initial stock; but it does not eliminate design, sample, store and customer support jobs. The existence of a production partner does not automatically grant the right to use the design or trademark.
Test a design on a real product .
Create an original design that appeals to a specific audience. Adjust the print area, resolution, color and overlay to the manufacturer's template. Instead of relying on the preview on your computer, ask for a sample; check fabric, print, packaging and delivery time. The photograph clarifies the buyer's expectation of the real product.
Your first trial: step by step
Use a single product and limited variant for the first try. Learn the production flow without unlocking a lot of bodies and colors.
- Check the design's copyright and trademark.
- Test the sample according to washing or usage conditions.
- Separate production time from shipping time.
Costs and pricing
Example: from a selling price of 800 TRY, subtract 330 TRY for the printed product, 120 TRY for shipping, 70 TRY for platform fees and 100 TRY for advertising. This leaves 180 TRY before tax and other expenses. Incorrect printing or re-sending reduces this margin. Do not assume that the manufacturer’s refund policy is the same as your obligations to your customer.
Before publishing or applying
Do not use popular film characters, team logos or celebrity names without permission. Set the typing errors and order confirmation process for personalized products. Check the return conditions for each product and country; being individual does not mean that all rights are lost in every case.
