Accumulate permission relationship instead of email address
The first question of the newsletter is 'How many people will I reach?' but 'Why would someone open my next email?' should be. A shooting checklist published every Friday or a weekly product photo recommendation for small businesses is a solid promise. Purchased address lists bring disinterested buyers and complaints. Make it clear what the subscription includes, shipping frequency and opt-out path right on the registration screen. Verify commercial message and data processing obligations specific to your activity.
Three-email welcome flow
Really deliver the resource you promised in the first message. In the second one, show with an example how to use the resource. Third, you can promote your paid service to those who need a more comprehensive solution to the same problem. Let each message have one main task. Four different products, five contacts and a long company story are unnecessary for the first contact. The subject line should establish the same expectation as the content; Misleading statements such as 'Your invoice is ready' drain trust.
