Start with a clear question
A competition needs more than people trying to beat each other. Give participants a clear goal, a manageable obstacle and an outcome viewers want to discover. We welcome ideas involving cities, studios, puzzles, skills, nature and teamwork. Start by explaining who must achieve what, and under which conditions.
Make the rules understandable and fair
Set out the number of participants, available time, materials and winning conditions. Explain what happens in a tie and when a task counts as complete. Games that reward communication and creativity alongside speed can include different strengths. A rule viewers can grasp in one sentence makes the action easier to follow.

Let the setting shape the game
Teams might connect clues around a neighbourhood, build something with limited materials or learn a local skill to complete a task. These are examples for developing ideas, not announced competitions. Consider residents, the environment and accessibility when choosing a location so the challenge has a realistic setting.
Build excitement through decisions
The decisions behind a score can be as interesting as the result. How will a team divide its tasks or adapt after a setback? Describe those turning points. Create interest through cooperation and fair competition, without humiliating participants or adding unnecessary danger. Suggest a safer alternative if an activity involves uncertainty.
