Put a person at the centre
A meaningful story may begin with everyday decisions rather than extraordinary events. A craftsperson preserving a skill, someone starting again or a person quietly helping their community can carry a compelling narrative. Explain what matters to them and what they are trying to preserve, learn or change.
Show effort, goals and change
Inspiring people do not need to be presented as perfect heroes. Real effort, uncertainty and small steps forward can be more meaningful. Describe a present goal, a past challenge and something that has changed. An observable process, such as teaching an apprentice, offers a stronger scene than a list of compliments.

Find emotion in authentic details
The sound of a workshop, a well-used tool or an old photograph can hold part of a person's history. Explain why such details matter. Do not invent events or exaggerate achievements. Distinguish personal memories from documented information, and leave room for careful listening and questions rather than assuming all the answers.
Respect personal boundaries
Suggesting someone's story does not give permission to publish their private life. Avoid sharing sensitive information or contact details without consent. Filming, naming and visibility are discussed with the person concerned. If difficult experiences are involved, focus on what they choose to share without defining them only by those experiences.
