In UGC, you produce a photo or video for the brand in a user experience style. Using content on a brand's account or in advertising is different from sharing it to its own audience. Not everything requires a large following; what matters is being able to produce the desired content in an accurate and reliable way.
Separate production fee from broadcast rights.
The cost of shooting and creating a product promotional video is not the same as the brand's right to use it in perpetual advertising. Write how many videos, what length, raw file, revision, time of use and advertising permission. If you want to share your personal account, please specify it as a separate submission.
Your first trial: step by step
Make an honest sample video of a product you own. Explain that the job is a portfolio test, don't present yourself as if you were commissioned by the brand.
- Brief clarify target audience, message and prohibition claims.
- Sample with vertical shot, readable subtitles and clear audio.
- Add the scope of delivery and the time period to your offer.
Costs and pricing
Include script, pre-production, re-production and editing time in the fee. Raw image, additional formats, advertising use or time extension can affect the price. Taking a free product is not the same as making money; consider the real cost of doing something for you in return.
Before publishing or applying
Do not invent personal experience with a product you have not used. Do not make unsupported claims in areas such as health. Make valid advertising statements when sharing in exchange for payment, gift or other benefit. Confirm that the music, image and person licenses include paid advertising use.
