Prize money and channel revenue are different
A contestant’s earnings in a YouTube competition depend on winning the announced prize. A creator’s advertising or sponsorship revenue follows a different model. Applying, appearing on camera or participating in a widely watched episode does not automatically create a right to payment. If a prize, participation payment or expense reimbursement is offered, ask for each to be stated separately in the written conditions.
Choose a competition that suits you
First list your strengths: knowledge, practical skills, communication, attention or teamwork. Then compare each announcement’s task with that list. Do not apply for a task you cannot do or would feel uncomfortable doing just because the advertised prize is large. If preparation time, filming date and travel requirements fit together, tailor your application to one particular competition.
