When choosing a job that can be done from home, look not only at the income, but also at the work environment and the time you can spare without interruption. A job that requires live customer meetings and an editing job that relies on file delivery require a different order. If you're not up for regular hours, projects with specific deadlines may be more manageable. Performing work from home does not eliminate responsibility for customer communication and delivery.
Evaluation with a concrete example
For example, in a design service where you can spare ten hours a week, do not count all of this as production time. If there are two hours of meeting, one hour of file preparation and one hour of editing, the remaining time for new work is six hours. You can schedule up to three two-hour deliveries. Making this capacity calculation before calculating wages will prevent you from taking on more jobs than you can handle.
